About
On days when you feel tired of searching for the right answer or trying to live up to someone else’s ideal, what you may need is not something to decorate yourself, but a quiet light that leads you back to who you truly are.
HAPPY CAKE JEWELS gives form to subtle irregularities and gentle curves—the warmth that cannot be found in perfect straight lines.
The nuances born from originals shaped by hand reflect the singular beauty that belongs to you alone.
Like the small joy of tasting something you love, it is a private moment of happiness—not for anyone else, but entirely your own.
In the midst of a busy day, a glance at your jewelry can make you stand a little taller.
A quiet sense of affirmation that speaks without words.
Step away from who you are supposed to be and return to your own sensibility.
Trust what moves you. Choose for yourself.
May a piece from HAPPY CAKE JEWELS become a small talisman that reminds you to do just that.
HAPPY CAKE JEWELS
Jewelry that makes you happy.
About the Designer
Keiko Maekawa
Founder and Designer of HAPPY CAKE JEWELS
Born in Osaka, Japan.
Keiko moved to New York in 2001 and studied Electronic Design and Multimedia at The City College of New York. In 2006, she graduated summa cum laude with a B.F.A.
While at City College, she was selected as a KAYE Scholar. Her design was chosen in the program’s logo competition, and the logo continues to be used today.
Living in New York and encountering its many different values and perspectives shaped her appreciation for imperfect beauty and small moments of delight in everyday life—sensibilities that continue to influence her work today.
After returning to Japan, Keiko worked in web design at a printing company in Nagoya before founding HAPPY CAKE JEWELS in 2010. That same year, she studied jewelry making at Hiko Mizuno College of Jewelry in Osaka and began developing her own distinctive approach to design.
Her work has been selected for television costume use, including the drama Roppongi Class, in which her pieces were worn by Yurina Hirate and Yuko Araki. Her designs have also received recognition from stylists and production professionals.
Today, HAPPY CAKE JEWELS is available primarily online to customers in Japan and around the world.
For adults who carry many different roles in their everyday lives, the brand creates a quiet light that feels true to who they are today.
